Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Judi Evans Shares Inspirational Story - Recounts Horseback Riding Accident & Help She Received

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some news to report about a popular star of the NBC soap. Judi Evans, who currently portrays Bonnie Lockhart on Days of Our Lives, has been through a lot in the past year. As you might remember, Judi’s son, Austin Michael Luciano, passed away back in December of 2019, and just months later Judi was involved in a serious horseback riding accident.

Judi’s injuries from the accident were severe, and then while she was hospitalized, she found out that she was positive for COVID-19. Judi experienced complications from COVID-19, including blood clots in her legs which required surgery.

Unfortunately, there were complications with her surgery as well, as reports surfaced that she was not properly anesthetized before the surgery began. It was certainly a major ordeal for Judi, but she got through it all.

Well, recently, Judi shared an inspirational story with her Twitter followers. As you might know, Judi is active on Twitter and frequently updates her followers about what’s going on in her life and how she’s doing.

Judi has been interacting with fans quite a bit over the last couple weeks, and she shared the heartwarming story of how several kind individuals helped her in the moments after her accident.

It started when Judi asked her followers about their favorite holiday. She noted that hers was Halloween, and she reminisced about how she and her son used to have a great time decorating and how her son loved to scare people.

Judi then said that she’d like to share a story about this year – something that she thinks about when things get really bad.

Judi then shared: “So the months leading up to my accident were very dark…I didn’t leave the couch, or even shower for days at a time…I was swirling…My husband started encouraging me to go back to work with the horses again, I hadn’t been riding since December.”

Judi continued with more tweets, saying that she finally went out riding one day and had an amazing ride. “It was a great ride,” Judi tweeted. “I felt free again, and for the first time in a long time I had a little peace.”

Judi went on to explain that she then went out the next day for a ride, and that’s when the accident happened.

Judi explained: “I hit the ground, my whole chest exploded…Luckily some wonderful people found me…I couldn’t stand, and I was having a hard time breathing…the ambulance couldn’t get to us…I was below the cliffs about a mile away with heavy sand and a river to cross…I was going to have to walk to the ambulance…with one wonderful lady holding me up on my right.”

Judi continued: “She got me up, and we started walking…I couldn’t look up or ahead to where we needed to go, if I did I knew I’d never make it…it would have been insurmountable…so I kept my eyes down and just kept looking at my feet, one step at a time. This wonderful lady kept saying prayers the whole way…I kept thinking one more step, one more step.”

Judi said that she and the lady crossed the river and walked through the sand, and then halfway up a steep hill, a couple of guys who saw them walking along drove down to meet them, and they drove Judi to the ambulance.

Judi praised the kindness and beauty of the strangers who helped her to just make one more step along the path to the vehicle.

Judi concluded by saying: “The point is we can do anything we put our mind to…even from the pit of darkness…one small step at a time, and the beautiful wonderful people out there to hold your hand along the way…lean into it…keep going, keep trying no matter how hard or painful.”

It’s a truly inspirational story, with wonderful folks who helped Judi when she needed it most. But perhaps the most touching part of the story is how Judi didn’t give up and how she looks back at the incident with gratitude and inspiration, especially after all she’s been through.

Lots of Judi’s fans and followers have commented on her posts and her story, and Judi took the time to respond to many of those replies personally. One person said: “Thank you for sharing. I wish I had your courage, Judi. You are such an inspiration.”

Others shared their own difficulties and how they got through their own personal crises, relating directly to what Judi has faced.

We’re so glad that Judi had persevered through the events of this past year, and we’re grateful for her words of wisdom and hope. Stay tuned to the NBC soap and we’ll keep you posted about all the latest Days of Our Lives spoilers and news. Here at CDL, we’ve got you covered!
